Enterprise / API security testing

Test the boundaries between connected systems.

Review authorized API scenarios, access decisions, input handling, and integration boundaries around connected AI-enabled applications.

Service overview

Start with a defined environment.

Examine the API boundaries around a connected application or AI workflow. Focus on how agreed endpoints handle access, inputs, and the information or actions available to different callers.

The relevant unit is the authorized application context—not every API owned by the organization.

Appropriate starting conditions

  • Documented endpoints and an agreed integration use case.
  • Approved test accounts representing relevant roles.
  • Permission from system and third-party owners where required.

Scope and deliverables

Scope and outputs are separate decisions.

Work to consider

  • Confirm endpoints, roles, supported scenarios, and test boundaries.
  • Examine agreed authorization, input, and data-handling behavior.
  • Record reproducible observations within the authorized conditions.

Potential deliverables

  • Agreed test scenarios and scoped findings.
  • Evidence of observed behavior with sensitive details handled appropriately.
  • Remediation considerations and identified testing limitations.

Engagement process

A controlled path from context to review.

  1. Confirm the boundary.

Agree objectives, systems, owners, permissions, dependencies, and the working window.

  2. Perform the agreed work.

Use the authorized approach, record limitations, and discuss material changes before expanding scope.

  3. Review and hand over.

Discuss observations or changes, identify responsible owners, and agree any follow-up separately.

Assumptions and exclusions

Know the limits before you start.

Do not assume full source review, load testing, third-party vendor assessment, unrestricted production testing, or guaranteed vulnerability discovery. API changes and retesting are separate commitments.

OWASP API security guidance can inform scenario selection. Any mapping and depth of coverage must be agreed; the engagement is not certification against that guidance.

Discuss your needs

A useful next step starts with your environment.

Discuss the decision, systems, and boundaries that matter. We can establish what work is appropriate before making commitments.
